Nokia’s global packaging processes are complex and require input and responsibility from various global stakeholders. In order to increase efficiency and reduce complexity, I sourced the Esko Webcenter digital platform to assist with this and initiate a change to the existing corporate behavior.
We embarked on a series of design sprints with solution architects to look at process optimization using various methods of design thinking, such as kaizen process mapping. Once set in place, we were able to reduce the lead time for packaging artwork creation from 23 weeks to 12 weeks using automated approval prompts and cloud based approval and annotations.
This enabled the design department to focus on more creative tasks whilst providing a return on investment within 7 months.
